Personal Goal Setting: 5 Proven Steps to Achieve Your Goals!
Knowing yourself, your strengths/talents and your passion/interest are keys to personal goal setting. Here I include a personal example on how I utilise my strengths/talents and passion to achieve my dream.
First, I define my dream/goals - what do I want to achieve in my life! Then I look at my strengths - what I have against what I'm interest in or passionate in. You need to find the sweet spot to align talents/passion.Once you identified the sweet spot, you look at your opportunity available out there to achieve your goals/dream. Be mindful of the threats as well. Below is the illustrated personal example of goals setting. Hope this will help to provide useful insight to you as well. Step 1: Defining your dream

| Strengths What is my unique talents/strengths? I can write and very passionate about helping others to grow and develop! | Weaknesses Have no knowledge about internet marketing and programming. Therefore, partnered with a person who have the knowledge and shared some vision. | | Opportunities There is a growing segment of internet marketing I can help others to grow through writing and users can access it free through internet for their benefit. At the same time, I can earn money through my web site Win-win solution for both parties. | Threats The segment is very competitive. Have to continouously improve my knowledge on personal developments. Have to learn the basic on developing website to ensure the website is user-friendly. |
Step 3: Set personal goals The goals must be specific, measurable, realistic and attainable, and within certain timeframe. Build a useful and friendly website, with regular update of articles within 6 months.
Step 4: Develop action plan to achieve the goals 1 Develop the website 2 Biweekly update of articles Step 5: Review of the goals
Half yearly: Check the progress, measurable against initial goals and the number of traffic to the website.
